The Catholic Committee of Appalachia,http://ccappal.org/ formed in 1970 to serve Appalachia, her poor and the entire web of creation. CCA is a membership based organization and stands in solidarity with its members on issues of concern to them such as mountaintop removal, labor, private prison development, sustainable lifestyles and communities, poverty, health, clean water, racism and climate change.
The Catholic Committee of Appalachia has published three Pastoral Letters from which the work of the Appalachian Faith and Ecology Center gathers it’s inspiration.
